Pros

Personal Growth - Attending a conference gives you the opportunity to hear from many teachers and speakers that can fill your mind with ideas and encouragement to help renew your energy and passion for your ministry.

Team Growth - If you have the opportunity to attend a conference with your team this can be a great opportunity to grow together as you learn and are encouraged together.  It also strengthens your bond as a unit through the shared experience of travel, meals together and memories made.

Networking - If you're looking to grow your team, a conference is an excellent place to meet like minded people.  You might make a connection with someone who ministers near you that you might not have connected with otherwise or make a new connection with someone from across the country who you would have never had the opportunity meet.

Mental/Physical/Spiritual Recharge - Even without all of the positive inputs that can come from attending a conference, the simple act of stepping away from your routine for a few days can allow you to mentally physically and spiritual recharge.  

Cons

Financial Cost - Most conferences are going to come with some kind of financial cost simply to attend - and that doesn't include the cost of travel/meals/hotels. If attending a conference will put a significant strain on your ministry or personal finances, there may be scholarship options available from some conferences or even from within your own congregation.

Time Cost - Attending a conference also comes with time away from family, time away from your ministry.  There is often never a "perfect time" to take a trip like this that won't lead to some kind of interruption, but you just have to decide if the time away will be worth the benefits of attendance.
